As early as in the first half of the year, it is expected that a visit (visit treatment) in which local hospital oriental doctors visit and treat patients with reduced mobility will be active.

On the 29th, a report on the plan of a trial project for visiting medical treatment at Geonjeongsimseo

The Ministry of Health and Welfare held a Health Insurance Policy Deliberation Committee (Geonjeongshim) on the 29th and reported a’plan to promote a pilot project for visiting medical fees in Oriental medicine’, which paid 93,000 won for royal treatment to oriental doctors who visited the hospital. Even now, oriental doctors can visit if they want, but there is no special fee (payment for medical treatment), so they only received a medical examination fee.

Earlier, in December 2019, this pilot project was first promoted for doctors, and this time, it includes oriental doctors. The Ministry of Health and Welfare said, “It is expanding to the field of oriental medicine in order to ensure patients’ medical options faithfully.” “The local oriental clinic will participate in the pilot project to provide visitation treatment services to patients with disabilities.”

The Ministry of Health and Welfare plans to start a pilot project around May-June after applying for a participating member. If the patient is unable to walk or cannot walk, or the patient’s guardian requests it, an oriental doctor will visit the house and provide treatments such as acupuncture, moxibustion, and cupping. 70% of royal medical treatment is paid from health insurance finance, and only 30% (about 28,000 won) is paid by the patient. However, considering that many of the patients are elderly or seriously ill, the burden of hospital treatment cannot be said to be low. In general, when you go to the hospital, if you do not receive unpaid treatment, the hospital fee is usually less than 10,000 won, which is up to 10 times. Moreover, as the visit does not end as a one-time visit, we do not know how much the actual demand will be.

An official from the Ministry of Health and Welfare said, “It is policy necessary to revitalize home medical care.” . The Ministry of Health and Welfare decided to limit the number of doctors to receive royal medical treatment at most 15 times per week per doctor in order to allow doctors to visit patients while treating patients in hospitals.

Glaucoma drug burden to 1/4

On the same day, Geonjeongsim also discussed the application of health benefits to the glaucoma treatment’Aberis eye drops’ and the Parkinson’s disease patient treatment’equipina film coated tablet’. Accordingly, the annual medication cost will be reduced to 140,000 → 33,000 won and 800,000 → 80,000 won, respectively.

Insurance benefits are also provided for allergic disease tests for the diagnosis of anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis is a systemic severe allergic reaction known as a side effect of vaccination such as the recent flu and COVID-19. Diagnosis is possible with a tryptase test, which compares the level of tryptase (protein enzyme) and the normal basic level after symptoms occur. If health insurance is applied, this cost is initially 215,000 won to 12,000 won (based on admission to a general hospital) Significantly decreases. The cost of autologous serum skin reaction test for the diagnosis of urticaria is also reduced from 29,000 won to 9,000 won (based on outpatient basis at an advanced general hospital). Insurance is also applied to desensitization therapy, which allows the body to adapt by injecting small amounts of drugs to patients with drug allergies, and the cost is reduced to a fifth level (208,000 won → 40,000 won).

Kon Jeong-shim also decided to improve the’nursing hospital admission fee differential system’, which additionally gives or reduces hospitalization fees depending on the level of securing specialists. Instead of reducing the existing manpower addition by 5% (1st grade 18% → 13%, 2nd grade 10% → 5%), a new standard linked to the adequacy evaluation result is created, and the compensation varies according to the quality of medical services. The results of the adequacy evaluation are differentiated between ▶high-ranking institutions with excellent scores and those with higher scores compared to the previous evaluation results. If the overall score is within the top 10%, 20% will be added, and if the score is within the top 30%, 10% will be added.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare said, “It will be an opportunity to improve the overall quality of medical care in nursing hospitals.”
