As the number of corona confirmed cases related to entertainment establishments and bathhouses increased in Geoje and Jinju, Gyeongnam, an additional 42 confirmed cases occurred after 5 pm on the 19th in Gyeongnam. As the confirmed cases followed, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering decided to stop working on the site for two days on the weekend following Geoje City’s recommendation to close the business site. Only about 200 manpower for essential facilities go to work, and most of the workplaces are operated at a closed level.

According to the city of Geoje, about 5900 people exposed to traffic lines, such as restaurants and showers in the shipyard, have been inspected so far, and additional inspections will be conducted on 4800 people by the next day.

In order to prevent the spread of local infections, Geoje City announced that it will issue an’executive order for compulsory corona 19 diagnosis test’ that imposes a fine for not being tested even after receiving a recommendation for Corona 19 testing at a medical institution for two weeks starting from the 24th.

As additional confirmations of contacts and family members of the first confirmed cases of unknown infection followed, 16 additional infections were made in Jinju, 3 in Tongyeong, 3 in Changnyeong, and 1 in each of Yangsan and Hapcheon.

The number of confirmed cases related to Jinju’s bathhouse, which has been tested on 7,000 so far, has also increased to 199. Jinju City issued an administrative order from this day on which citizens who were prescribed antipyretics and pain relievers for symptoms such as fever and chills at hospitals and pharmacies were obligated to undergo diagnostic tests.

The cumulative number of confirmed cases in Gyeongnam was 2,642, of which 17.4% were reported to have come out in the last 10 days.
