In Geoje, Gyeongsangnam-do, one out of five citizens works at a shipyard, and Daewoo Shipbuilding continues to have confirmed cases.
Over 20,000 people were inspected alone, and an emergency took place throughout the city.

This is a screening clinic installed in a hospital near Geoje Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.
Employees of Daewoo Shipbuilding and its partner companies lined up to undergo corona 19 diagnostic tests.
As more than 2,400 people gathered at once, the screening clinic was in a hurry.

Geoje-si established 4 screening clinics near Daewoo Shipbuilding and started large-scale diagnostic tests.

Recently, a large number of 68 confirmed cases have appeared in this shipyard.
Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering halted its operations today as a result of concerns over a serial infection.

“Suspension of operations is a part that bears considerable business losses, but in terms of doing our best to quarantine…”
As the shipyard stopped, people were cut off, and the nearby commercial district also froze.

“It’s time to have a lot of (guests), but as you can see, we don’t have one. It’s not just us, but it’s all right now.”
Since the 13th, a total of 142 confirmed cases have occurred in Geoje City.
Nearly half of these are shipyard workers.
In preparation for the possibility of the infection spreading across the shipyard fence and into the local community, Geoje City proposed a plan to investigate all 20,000 employees of Daewoo Shipbuilding.

The quarantine authorities are taking measures to close 200 childcare centers in the area for the time being, and are expanding the scope of inspection to restaurants and schools around the shipyard.
