Genesis’GV70′ released… Provisional sales price from 49 million won

In the News Reporter Jinsol Lee | The first mid-size SUV’GV70′ from the Genesis brand has appeared.

On the 8th, Genesis held an online’GV70 Global Digital Disclosure’ event and introduced GV70. Sales are expected to begin early next year. Genesis explained that the GV70 is characterized by an exterior design that emphasizes a dynamic image, a driver-centered interior design that takes advantage of the beauty of white space, and a stable driving sensibility like a’luxury SUV’.

On the front part, Genesis’ wing-shaped emblem is shaped with quad lamps and crest grilles. Here, the G-matrix pattern was applied to the radiator grill and intake grill (front bumper intake) to express the identity of Genesis.

The side starts at the top of the quad lamp and creates a dynamic feel with the’parabolic line’, an arched line that runs across the vehicle body, and the voluminous rear fender (wheel cover). The rear part is a thin and long quad lamp for a strong impression.

The interior was inspired by streamlined (aerodynamic) sculpting like the wing of an airplane. The number of control buttons in the center of the room (center fascia) has been minimized by expanding the application of the LCD touch pad.

Genesis offers a total of 12 exterior colors, 5 interior color packages, and 3 interior colors exclusively for sports packages. It operates with three engines: gasoline 2.5 turbo, 3.5 turbo, and diesel 2.2, and also introduces a sports package that includes electronic differential limiters and exclusive sports wheels.

The gasoline 3.5 turbo model has a maximum output of 380 horsepower, a maximum torque of 54.0 kgf·m, and a combined fuel consumption of 8.6 km/ℓ. By applying Launch Control, which maximizes starting acceleration by controlling engine torque and wheel spin to the optimum state, the gasoline 3.5 turbo model can reach 100 km/h from standstill in 5.1 seconds.

Noise-insulating glass is applied to the windshield and windows to ensure quietness. Genesis explained that the’Preview Electronic Control Suspension’ function that controls the suspension by recognizing the front road surface information in advance provides optimum ride comfort even in various road driving environments.

Major safety and convenience specifications such as front collision avoidance assistance, rear collision avoidance assistance, driver attention warning, and navigation-based smart cruise control were applied as standard. A total of 8 airbags, including the driver’s knee and 4 sides, were installed and the vehicle body tensile strength was increased to enhance safety.

The world’s first fingerprint authentication system linked with Genesis CarPay was applied to allow simple payments in vehicles to be made using only fingerprint recognition. Rear-seat passenger notification technology based on a radar sensor enables the detection of subtle movements of a child sleeping in the back seat.

For the first time in the Genesis lineup, we paid attention to the pleasant indoor air quality, including the’After Blow’ technology that operates a fan 30 minutes after turning off the engine to dry the inside of the air conditioner to remove moisture. In addition, the augmented reality (AR) navigation display specification has also been greatly strengthened.

Genesis plans to operate the’Your Genesis’ system, which is a personalized sales method, in the GV70 as well. The provisional sales price of the GV70 is expected to be 49 million to 75 million won (based on 5.0% individual consumption tax). The final final selling price and contract commencement date will be disclosed later.

Jang Jae-hoon, Director of Genesis Business Division, said, “Genesis will continue to deliver a special experience to customers’ everyday life with the luxurious vehicle types that customers want based on a mindset that puts customers first.
