Prosecutor Han Dong-hoon (Research Fellow of the Legal Affairs and Training Institute) filed a lawsuit for damages of 500 million won against the Chairman of the Roh Moo Hyun-dan, Ryu Si-min. On the 9th, prosecutor Han said, “A lawsuit was filed against Chairman Yoo to the Seoul Central District Court. He made a problem with the fact that Chairman Yoo Si-min claimed that’the prosecution had illegally accessed the Roh Moo Hyun-dan account’ through YouTube and media interviews. One point of the prosecutor’s side is that “legal action is inevitable because it is unfairly stigmatized by Chairman Yoo as a public official who has illegally used public authority for private retaliation.” Chairman Yoo said on a YouTube broadcast in December 2019, “We confirmed that the prosecution looked into the main bank account of the Roh Moo Hyun-dan. I guess I would have looked into my account as well,” but in January, he said, “I politely apologize to all officials of the prosecution for suspicion that is not true.” Prosecutor Han was serving as the head of the anti-corruption force department at the end of 2019 at the time Chairman Yoo raised the suspicion.
