The Supreme Prosecutor’s Office took charge of the inmates and prosecution officials involved in the alleged perjury teacher in the case of former Prime Minister Han Myung-sook’s violation of the Political Fund Act. On the 5th, the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office announced that it had been charged with two witnesses and prosecutors from the investigation team at the time, who had been subjected to a trial in the case of the former Prime Minister of Korea, perjury (perjury for the purpose of harming the defendant, etc.), teachers, and aid. However, the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office added, “We plan to additionally review and process whether or not the prosecution officials are dishonored during the investigation of the case.” The case of a mother harm perjury teacher surrounding the investigation team of former Prime Minister Han was raised in July last year when Mr. Han Amugae, who claimed to have been asked for a mother harm perjury from the investigation team, asked the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office for inspection and investigation. Han did not stand as witnesses in the trial of the former prime minister, but argued that two fellow inmates of the late Han Man-ho, former CEO Han Shin Gyeon-young, who handed money to the former prime minister, were under pressure to testify. One of them, Mr. Choi Amugae, filed a complaint with the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office for the same purpose. They claimed that the investigative team at the time was a teacher and assistance to give a testimony in favor of a former prime minister, who was charged with receiving 900 million won of political money. In 2015, the Supreme Court convicted former Prime Minister Han and sentenced him to two years in prison. The complaints of the two inmates were allocated to the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office in the 3rd division, and Senior Prosecutor Lim Eun-jeong, who was appointed as the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office Policy Researcher in September last year, also investigated. However, the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office decided against the prosecutor of the investigative team and the inmates who were suspicious of pressing the testimony at the time, saying, “We decided that there was insufficient evidence to admit the charges through a rational decision-making process.” The 6th is also the day when the statute of limitations on prosecution of Choi Amugae, one of the inmates accused of perjury, is completed. The statute of limitations for the rest of the inmate, Amugae Kim, was also coming on the 22nd. Meanwhile, researcher Eun-jeong Lim argued that he was excluded from the investigation of the investigation team’s case of a perjury teacher, causing a conflict with the great swordsman. Researcher Lim wrote on his Facebook page on the 3rd that he was excluded from his duties in the case of perjury of the former prime minister under the orders of the prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol and Deputy Prosecutor Nam-gwan Cho. However, the Supreme Swordsman never allotted this case to Researcher Lim, and the Chief Prosecutor also refuted that he had designated the Supreme Swordsman Heo Jeong-soo as the first inspector.
