According to the Korea National Oil Corporation’s weekly domestic oil price trend on the 23rd, the sales price of gasoline at domestic gas stations in the third week of January (18-21) was 1447.2 won, up 7.9 won per liter (L) from the previous week. The price of diesel is 1247.6 won per liter, up 7.8 won from the previous week.

The sales price of gasoline by region was the most expensive in Seoul at 1525.4 won per liter, 10.4 won higher than last week. It was 78.2 won higher than the national average price. On the other hand, Daegu gasoline price rose 11.6 won to 1430.3 won per liter, the cheapest in the country. It was 16.9 won lower than the national average.

The average price of gasoline by brand was 1456.8 won per liter at GS Caltex gas stations, and the cheapest gas station at 1408.2 won. In terms of diesel prices, GS Caltex gas stations were the highest at 1257.8 won per liter, while the budget gas station was the lowest at 1208.0 won.

The supply price of regular companies is 1,365.8 won, up 4.9 won in gasoline prices, and 1157.8 won in diesel prices. The highest-priced oil refinery based on gasoline reached 1395.9 won, up 37.6 won from the previous week with GS Caltex, and 1334.7 won, up 22.8 won with Hyundai Oilbank.

The average international oil price in the third week of January (based on Dubai oil) was 55.3 dollars, down 0.4 dollars per barrel from the previous week.

An official from the Korea National Oil Corporation said, “This week’s international oil price is due to the downward revision of the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) oil demand forecast for 2021, a temporary decrease in the supply of the Corona 19 vaccine (Pfizer) in Europe, and the call for dialogue with Qatar’s Arab country and Iran. “We are recording a slight decline due to the influence.”
