Free support for 4 types of inspection equipment worth 8 million won to revitalize the hydrogen industry
Expected to strengthen autonomous safety management capabilities and improve safety using high-performance inspection equipment

[지앤이타임즈] The Gas Safety Corporation is working to ease the burden of safety management costs for hydrogen charging station operators.
The project to support the creation of a hydrogen industry ecosystem to vitalize the hydrogen economy has begun in earnest.
On the 3rd, President of Korea Gas Safety Corporation Hae-jong Lim held a delivery ceremony for free rental of high-performance inspection equipment to ease the burden of safety management costs at the Samhan Hydrogen Station in Eumseong-gun, Chungbuk.
This project is a business that purchases four types of hydrogen gas leak detectors, ground resistance meters, thermal imagers, and standard gas injection devices, which are essential equipment for safety inspection at hydrogen charging stations, and lends them to hydrogen charging stations free of charge.
It was promoted as part of the’Comprehensive Measures for Hydrogen Safety Management’ announced in December 2019 to support the early achievement of the government’s activation of the hydrogen economy.
If a hydrogen charging company wishes to lease inspection equipment, they will receive 4 types of inspection equipment worth about 8 million won free of charge.
The free lease period can be up to four years, and it is expected to ease the burden of safety management costs for hydrogen chargers, which are in the red due to enormous initial costs and operational costs.
In addition, it is expected to have a great effect in strengthening its own safety management.
Gas Safety Corporation, which established the Hydrogen Safety Technology Institute earlier this year, is promoting a hydrogen quality inspection fee support project, securing the reliability of inspections of three key hydrogen facilities, and establishing a permanent safety inspection and safety management support system along with the free rental business of high-performance inspection equipment. .
Hae-jong Lim, President of Gas Safety Corporation, said, “We look forward to the fact that KDHC, the Korea Hydrogen Safety Agency, will be a safe support for the expansion of the hydrogen economy by making every effort to create a sustainable hydrogen safety ecosystem and strengthen win-win cooperation.”
