LG U+ is the first to announce a publicly announced subsidy of up to 500,000 won and set out to secure 5G subscribers. Each rate plan is supported from KRW 268,000 to a maximum of KRW 500,000. This is not higher than the total discount if you receive a 25% option discount for 24 months. However, if an additional 15% of the distribution network is added, the terminal discount support will exceed the 25% total rate discount.
Depending on the rate plan, KT provides a public subsidy of up to 500,000 won from 262,000 won. Compared to the existing subsidy, it has increased about twice. SK Telecom, which had adhered to the existing subsidies, also nearly tripled the publicly announced subsidies from 225,000 won to 500,000 won. However, the option agreement is more advantageous compared to the publicly disclosed subsidies.
From the end of last year, after purchasing a self-supporting 5G terminal, you can choose an LTE plan as a service plan. Self-contained terminals are not directly linked to mobile communication services and are sold through manufacturers and distributors. It is advantageous if you want to use the LTE plan or if you want to maintain various combined discounts. However, after purchasing the terminal, you must subscribe to the mobile service separately.
