According to the industry on the 5th, the Galaxy S21 will be released in three types:’Galaxy S21′ (6.2 inches),’Galaxy S21 Plus’ (6.7 inches), and’Galaxy S21 Ultra’ (6.8 inches).
First of all, when looking at the launch price that is most important to consumers, it has become cheaper compared to the previous Galaxy S20. This is interpreted as a strategy for Samsung Electronics to increase sales in the midst of the smartphone market stagnation caused by the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19).
In the case of the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus, the price is about 100 dollars (about 110,000 won) lower than the previous one. In the case of the Galaxy S21 Ultra, it is expected to be cut by US$50 (about 50,000 won).
In particular, in order to prevent the 5th generation mobile communication (5G) smartphone market of Apple’s iPhone 12 from being dominated, it was necessary to cut the factory price as the Galaxy S21 was released early. Samsung Electronics normally unveiled the new Galaxy S in February and officially launched the product in March.
The Galaxy S20 series, which Samsung Electronics released in the first half of last year, had’unprecedented specifications’ at the time, but was pointed out for its high price. In particular, the market was stagnant due to Corona 19, and the box office failed.
The Galaxy S21 is cheaper than the Galaxy S20, but it is expected that the wired earphones and chargers provided as standard in the bundle will be omitted.
A lower launch price doesn’t mean that performance is lowered. Looking at the detailed specifications of the product, the application processor (AP) is expected to be equipped with the latest AP models, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and Exynos 2100. It is known that the Exynos 2100 is mounted on the domestic model.
You can see that the camera function has also been enhanced. In the Galaxy S21 unpack invitation image released by Samsung Electronics on the 4th, the phrase’Welcome to the Everyday Epic’ and the presumed shape as a camera module were emphasized.
The general model and the plus model are equipped with three rear cameras such as wide angle, ultra wide angle, and telephoto, and are released with almost the same specifications except for the screen size and battery capacity.
The design of the product is also greatly changed from the existing Galaxy S series. In particular, the camera module is finished along the edge of the product in a form that sticks to the rear left corner. This completely changed the camera module design of the last decade. Looking at the leaked product photos, the shape of’Katuktu (a design with a camera protruding)’ has also decreased for all Galaxy S21 models.
Also noteworthy is that the S Pen will be supported for the first time in the Galaxy S series on the Galaxy S21 Ultra model. However, the S Pen is not stored in a smartphone like the Galaxy Note series. A special case that can be stored outside is expected to be released.
The resolution of the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus is 1080×2220 (FHD+), and the Galaxy S21 Ultra is 1440×2960 (WQHD+). All three products support 120Hz (hertz) high refresh rate.
The battery capacity is expected to be 4000mAh for the Galaxy S21, 4800mAh for the Galaxy S21 Plus, and 5000mAh for the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The representative color of the Galaxy S21 is’Phantom Violet’. It will be released in a total of 4 colors, such as gray, white and pink.
In addition, the Galaxy S21 Ultra is expected to support’Wi-Fi 6E’, and the remaining Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus are expected to support the existing Wi-Fi 6 version. Wi-Fi 6E is a standard technology extended from Wi-Fi 6. Wi-Fi 6, which is a 6GHz (Gigahertz) band, supports up to 1Gbps and Wi-Fi 6E supports up to 2Gbps.
