From today, meetings of more than 5 people at restaurants nationwide are prohibited… Penalty for violation

From the 24th, the special quarantine measures for Corona 19 were in full force. From the previous day, the ban on meetings of more than 5 people in the metropolitan area was extended to restaurants nationwide, and winter sports facilities such as ski resorts and snow sledding grounds and sunrise spots nationwide were closed.

According to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (competitive script), the government has set a special quarantine period from this day to the 3rd of the following month as a separate measure to reverse the trend of patient occurrences prior to the adjustment of the’social distancing’ phase this weekend. These measures have been implemented.

According to this measure, restaurants nationwide cannot accept reservations for more than 5 people, and it is also prohibited for groups of 5 or more to enter the restaurant together. Eight people are not allowed to sit at two tables each with four.

If this is violated, administrative fines of 3 million won or less and users of 100,000 won or less are imposed respectively.

Since meetings of 5 or more people outside of the restaurant are subject to cancellation, not ban, there is no penalty for violation. However, the government strongly recommended canceling private gatherings, dinners, and parties with more than five people.

However, in the metropolitan area, not only restaurants but also all private gatherings of 5 or more people are prohibited. Violation of the prohibition of gathering may result in a fine of up to 3 million won and a claim for compensation.

In addition, winter sports facilities such as ski resorts, snow sledding rinks, and skating rinks, which are crowded in winter, have been suspended, and sunrise spots such as Gangneung Jeongdongjin, Ulsan Ganjeolgot, and Pohang Homigot have also been closed. The winter sports facilities that have been suspended are 16 ski resorts nationwide, 35 ice rinks, and 128 snow sledding sites.
