Until now, the Financial Supervisory Service has sent responses to complaints (reply) and notifications related to voice phishing in written form such as registered mail. As a result, there was a lot of concern about loss in the middle, and the opinion that it was inconvenient because the cost of registered delivery was too high.

Accordingly, the Financial Supervisory Service decided to send the complaint reply from this year in the form of’electronic notification’. If the financial consumer chooses the electronic notification method, they can receive the same reply as the document through KakaoTalk messenger. If the financial consumer chooses the electronic notification method but does not read it for 24 hours, it will reduce the inconvenience of not receiving a reply by sending a registered mail.

Of course, if the financial consumer does not choose the electronic notification method, they can receive it in writing, the existing method.

In addition, six notifications related to voice phishing (notification of commencement of bond extinguishing procedures, notice of deprecation of bonds, notification of designation of persons subject to restriction of electronic financial transactions, notice of cancellation of designation of persons subject to restriction of electronic financial transactions, and notification of damage refund determination) are also notified through Kakao Talk.

However, in consideration of issues such as stabilization at the beginning of the implementation, it was decided to send a written message and mobile notification together in January, but only to mobile from February 1. However, the voice phishing notice, like the complaint reply, will reduce the inconvenience of not receiving a reply by sending a registered or regular mail if it is not viewed for 24 hours.

However, to receive this service, you need to install the KakaoTalk application (app). In addition, Kakao Pay’s certificate is also required as it requires an identity verification procedure to view electronic documents.
