The difficultly open’discussion of the century’ between the United States and China began from the beginning in a harsh atmosphere with harsh words going back and forth.

The first high-level meeting between the US and China was held in Alaska, USA on the 18th (local time), which is the first high-level face-to-face meeting between the US and China after President Joe Biden took office. US Secretary of State Tony Blingen, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Chinese Communist Party diplomatic politician Yang Jietsu and Wang Yi, Chinese Foreign Affairs Commissioner and Minister of Foreign Affairs, headed 2+2 at Anchorage, Alaska. The talks started. The two sides are known to have scheduled meetings twice on the same day and once in the morning of the 19th.

The gun was opened by Secretary Blincoln. He said the United States is committed to strengthening rule-based order, criticizing China’s actions as threatening rule-based order that maintains global stability.

“The US will discuss deep concerns about China’s actions, including in the Xinjiang region,” he said, saying that cyber attacks on Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United States, and economic coercion towards the alliance will lead to dialogue. He pointed out that he is hearing deep concerns from other countries about some of the measures China is taking.

Aide Sullivan said he would be honest about US concerns. “We welcome fierce competition without pursuing conflict. But we will uphold the principles for our people and our friends.”

In response, Yang Jietsu criticized “the United States is using military power and financial superiority to press other countries,” and “abuses the concept of national security to threaten the future of international trade.” He also pointed out that “the United States agitates other countries to attack China.” He said, “Xinjiang, Hong Kong, and Taiwan are all inseparable territory of China.”

Wang Yi said that the Chinese delegation came to the United States at the invitation of the United States, and that issuing new sanctions is not a way to welcome guests.
