Around 2 pm on the 3rd, a white 1 ton truck arrived at the former U.S. military engineer site in Bangsan-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul, the site of the new National Medical Center. The truck door opened, and the thermometer in the black simulated vaccine box was pointing to -75 degrees below zero.
The simulation training for the transport of a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine started at Incheon International Airport this morning. Beginning with the arrival of the vaccine transport aircraft at 10:00 am, the following operations, customs clearance, and loading of the vaccine were carried out.
The simulation training that was released to the reporters on this day was the training to get off the vaccine at the vaccination center of the National Medical Center to start vaccination for Corona 19 in the metropolitan area and to store the frozen warehouse in the center.

When a vaccine transport truck with the phrase’Corona cannot beat Korea’ arrived at the National Medical Center’s vaccination center, two soldiers dressed in black opened the cargo compartment of the transport vehicle and unloaded the box containing the corona 19 vaccine.
They immediately put the vaccine box into the room where the freezer was installed, and in the room, two medical staff checked the temperature of the vaccine transport box and entered the vaccine storage related book. In the document, △ arrival date △ quantity △ recipient △ temperature of the vaccine storage container △ vaccine manufacturing number △ vaccine expiration date, etc. were written.
On this day, 195 bottles of 5ml vaccine were contained in the box, and a total of 390 bottles of 2 boxes were trained. After the reception process, the medical staff put the vaccine into one of the two freezers, wearing gloves and goggles for the freezer.
On the outside of the freezer, it was marked with 72.8 degrees below zero. A’Pfizer vaccine storage freezer temperature management record (February 2021)’ was attached to the door of the freezer, and the temperature was recorded at 9 am and 5 pm daily.
On the other hand, an incident occurred in the simulation training for vaccine transport on this day. I had to take out the actual internal vaccine storage box from the first black box and move it to the freezer, but the inner box did not freeze on dry ice. The inner box is based on the actual box size delivered by Pfizer. The inside box came out after the officials tried for about 5 minutes.
An official from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention explained, “In reality, you have to take it out, pour dry ice, and come right away, but it seems to be frozen after making it in advance,” he explained. “Even if the box is open, the temperature does not go down.”
“If possible, the quantity contracted with Pfizer goes from the airport to the vaccination center, and if there is any change in the order of allocation, some of them are stored in the logistics warehouse in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi. I went to the distribution warehouse and then moved to the vaccination center.”
