The runway was temporarily closed from 12 noon to 1:10 p.m. with snow accumulated from dawn on this day, and snow removal was carried out. At Jeju Airport, 73 domestic flights were canceled. Starting at 5 am on this day, a maximum wind speed of 15.4 meters per second was observed in Busan. Winds of more than 20 meters per second were measured along the coasts of Oryukdo Island and Gadeokdo Island.
The cold wave is expected to continue until the 10th. The Meteorological Administration predicted that the cold air near Siberia could not move eastward and travel south quickly to Korea, and the cold would peak on the 8th.
