Former reporter Lee Dong-jae was released the day before the expiration… Will it affect’Han Dong-hoon no charge’

Former Channel A reporter Lee Dong-jae, who was indicted for attempting to force the reporter, was released on bail one day before the deadline expires. On the morning of the morning of the 3rd, Deputy Judge Park Jin-hwan, the exclusive criminal judge of the Seoul Central District Court, accepted the application for bail permission filed in October last year. Deputy Judge Park said, “Because it is recognized that there is a good reason to grant bail against the accused (former reporter), bail is granted for the accused.”

Released after 201 days of imprisonment

Former reporter Lee sent a letter to Lee Chul (restraint), former Value Invest Korea (VIK) CEO, to report the allegations of misconduct by the chairman of the Roh Moo Hyun-dan, Ryu Si-min. Was prosecuted in August of last year. Earlier, on July 17 of last year, a court issued a preliminary arrest warrant and was imprisoned in the Seoul Detention Center.

Former reporter Lee applied for bail for the fact that the former CEO, who was present as a witness to the trial on October 6 last year, gave a testimony that differs from the allegation of the case reporter, Jimo (aka’Informer X’). At the time, the lawyer of the former reporter said, “The contents of the meeting or phone call between the former reporter and Mr. Ji were not even delivered to the former representative, and it was confirmed that the former representative heard the name of the prosecutor Han Dong-hoon for the first time after the crime was over. “The period of imprisonment is longer compared to the offense,” he claimed.

Former reporter Lee submitted opinions to the court last year three times (November 2, November 24, and December 29) and urged the decision to bail. Through the opinion, the lawyers conveyed the opinion to the court that “In a situation where key witnesses such as Ji refused to attend the case for unreasonable reasons and delayed the trial for a long time, the burdens and restrictions are heavily placed on the defendant.” However, the judiciary has postponed the decision for several months even after the related interrogation was completed.

Lee Dong-jae fights back, highlights the situation of’conflict of rights

Former reporter Lee is poised to counterattack by filing a lawsuit for damages of 50 million won against the Open Democratic Party leader Choi Kang-wook, who is suspected of inflating his allegations. On the basis of Mr. Ji’s argument on Facebook last April, CEO Choi said to the former CEO Lee, “It may not be true. Say that you gave money to the chairman of the Roh Moo Hyun-dan, Shi-min Yoo. Then, that’s the end,” he wrote, and was charged with dissemination of false information. The former reporter’s strategy is to focus on highlighting the circumstances of the’conflict of opinions’ leading to the informants Ji and Choi, who reported the case for the first time in a future trial.

Choi Kang-wook, who is accused of falsely writing a certificate of internship for the son of former Justice Minister Cho Kook, was sentenced to 8 months in prison for loss of a parliamentary position, and 2 probation at the first trial hearing held at the Seoul Central District Court in Seocho-gu, Seoul on the morning of the 28th of last month. Sentenced to years. He is also accused of spreading false information against former Channel A reporter Lee Dong-jae. Reporter Jang Jin-young

Interest is focused on whether the release of former reporter Lee Seong-yoon will affect the prosecution’s decision not to charge prosecutor Han Dong-hoon, which is being postponed due to the refusal of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office. This is because the court’s decision on bail was partially accepted, albeit late, from the former reporter’s claim that “the frame of’probate adhesion’ was broken. This case was dubbed as a’probate collusion case’, with suspicion that a prosecutor had conspired with former reporter Lee. However, the prosecution did not state the alleged conspiracy with a prosecutor while prosecuting the former reporter.

On the other hand, some of the legal circles responded that “the court was confused with bail permission one day before the expiration of the arrest” over the fact that the court gave a bail condition such as 20 million won in bail. The former reporter also said through a lawyer on the day that “except for waiting after sending a subpoena to Ji, the trial has been substantially revolutionized.”
