Former Juventus chairman Ronaldo recruited 1.4 billion won per mistake

The former chairman of Juventus criticized Cristiano Ronaldo’s signing as a failure.
According to foreign media reports such as ESPN on the 12th (Korean time), former chairman of Juventus Giovanni Koboli Gili announced in an interview with Italian radio broadcast that Ronaldo’s recruitment was Juventus’ mistake.
Jilli, former chairman of Juventus from 2006 to 2009, said, “Is the contract with Ronaldo wrong? Of course it is.”

“I respect the great champion Ronaldo, but it costs too much,” he said. “It is up to Juventus whether to transfer Ronaldo, but he is paying Ronaldo 1 million euros (about 1.4 billion won) per goal.”
Ronaldo has made a total of 32 appearances for Juventus this season and is scoring 27 goals.
Ronaldo’s annual salary is known to be 31 million euros (about 42 billion won).
Ronaldo’s contract with Juventus is until June 2022.
Former Chairman Jilly’s ‘Remarks’ came after Juventus had been eliminated in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 for two consecutive seasons.
Juventus won 3-2 at the home game of the 2020-2021 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 against Porto (Portugal) on the 10th after an overtime match. However, Juventus, who lost to 1-2 in the first game, was pushed out of the away multiple points and was frustrated in the quarterfinals with the total of 4-4 in the first and second games.
Ronaldo couldn’t score goals in both the first and second leg of the 16th round, even though he was a major goalkeeper. In particular, when taking a free kick in the second half of the second game, even though they built a defensive wall together, they turned around as if trying to avoid the ball and provided the excuse for conceding, and they faced intense criticism from fans.
After Juventus signed Ronaldo from Real Madrid (Spain) in the summer of 2018 with the goal of recapture of European professional football, the best performance in three seasons in the UEFA Champions League is in the quarterfinals.
