Foreign Minister Song Young-gil, chairman of the Democratic Party’s Foreign Affairs Committee, explained, “There is a National Assembly law that requires you to wait 20 days for a resolution to be presented to the standing committee.

Even after the agenda was put forward, Chairman Song suggested an additional chairman alternative at the plenary meeting, saying, “This resolution needs to be addressed urgently, so a revised alternative was created. Subsequently, the chairman’s alternative was passed through a quick decision without going through a separate alternative discussion.

According to the Foreign Communications Commission, the resolution condemned the Myanmar military, urged the restoration of democracy, released detained politicians and officials, and protected Korean citizens.
