A United Airlines airliner, which flew in the sky with 241 passengers, had an engine failure and an accident that caused debris to fall into a residential area.

According to Reuters, on the 20th (local time), the engine on the right side of the passenger plane departing from Denver International Airport in Colorado and heading for Honolulu failed immediately after take-off, causing flames and smoke.

The accident airliner is a Boeing 777-200. There were 241 people on board, including 10 crew members. Fortunately, the plane returned safely to the airport where it departed and there were no injuries.

Gas debris spilled onto the ground, hitting residential areas, soccer fields, and lawns near the airport. However, no resident injuries have been reported due to the crashed engine debris.

At the time of the accident, the inside of the plane was dizzy. According to Reuters, the captain shouted’Mayday (emergency request signal)’ and was recorded crying out, “The engine has a problem and needs to turn right away.”

“The aircraft shook violently and then began to descend,” said David Dilucia, a passenger who sat with his wife at the seat opposite the broken engine. “I thought it was over.”

He recalled the dizzying time, saying, “The captain did a really amazing job,” and “I was ignored.”

The crashed aircraft has been in service for over 26 years, and it is known that the broken engine is Pratt & Whitney’s’PW4000′ engine.
