Ryu Ji-hyun, the commanding tower coach of the LG Twins franchise star, won the debut game and turned the ball to the players and fans.

Coach Ryu set a valuable record of winning the managerial debut by defeating NC Dinos 2-1 in the first game of the 2021 season held at Changwon NC Park in Gyeongnam on the 4th.

Director Ryu Ji-hyun joined as a rookie in 1994 and played an active part in LG’s main shortstop until he retired in 2004, and he also walked the path of leadership at LG.

Coach Ryu, who played an active role as a senior coach until last season, took the baton when he was appointed as the new manager in November last year.

Before the game, “I don’t tremble.

“It’s the same,” said manager Ryu, who appeared before his debut.

Director Ryu said, “Starter Kelly threw well up to the 5th inning and played a good role, followed by Ham Deok-ju, Jung Woo-young, and Ko Woo-seok, Pil Seung-jo perfectly blocked.”

He added, “All the players have done well, and I want to express my gratitude to the fans who supported me by coming to Changwon in the first game of the season.”

Starter Casey Kelly blocked well with 5 innings and 1 run, while Ham Deok-ju, Jung Woo-young, and Ko Woo-seok each blocked 1⅓ innings, 1⅔innings, and 1 innings with zero runs to win, hold, and save, respectively.

After the game, LG Sports CEO Lee Gyu-hong and captain Kim Hyun-soo delivered a bouquet of congratulations to Ryu.
