Financial Supervisory Service to continue sanctions on Optimus crisis today…

NH CEO Chung Young-chae, 3 months prior notice of job suspension
I can’t attend face-to-face due to corona 19

[서울=뉴스핌] Reporter Seong-Bong Lim = The Financial Supervisory Service will hold a third sanction review committee for NH Investment & Securities and others on the 25th in relation to the Optimus Fund crisis. NH Investment & Securities CEO Chung Young-chae is in a difficult situation to attend face-to-face due to the confirmation of a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), but the sanctions trial is expected to conclude on this day.

According to the financial authorities on that day, the FSS will resume sanctions even if CEO Jeong does not attend. Sanctions on the Optimus Fund have already been held twice, but none of them have been concluded.

At that time, it was reported that NH Investment & Securities was fighting hard over whether it was’lack of internal control’ that NH Investment & Securities sold the Optimus Fund. Earlier, the Financial Supervisory Service decided on severe disciplinary action that restricts re-employment in the financial sector even for the majority of CEOs of securities companies selling lime funds for lack of internal control.

On the other hand, NH Investment & Securities argued that unlike the Lime Fund crisis, they were victims of the scam that Optimus decided to do. He argued that it should be taken into account that it actively sought compensation for victims of the Optimus Fund and directly filed a prosecution in order to prevent further victims from occurring.

The Financial Supervisory Service has notified NH Investment & Securities CEO Chung Young-chae of a severe punishment for’three-month suspension of work’. Re-employment in the financial sector will be restricted for the next four years if the disciplinary action for suspension is confirmed to CEO Jung as prior notice. For this reason, it is known that Jung attended the sanctions trial twice and made an active call.

However, even though CEO Chung is unable to attend, the Financial Supervisory Service decided to continue the sanctions review, and the final conclusion on NH Investment & Securities and others is expected to be reached on this day. Representative Jung was in quarantine after being diagnosed with Corona 19 on the 16th.
