The financial authorities decided to look into whether there was any problem with the loan process related to the allegations of land speculation by employees of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).
Employees of the Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service will be dispatched to the government joint special investigation headquarters (special edition) to look into the issue of illegal loans.
An official from the financial authorities said on the 12th, regarding the order of Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki to investigate the lending process of LH employees, “because we need to keep pace with the combined version, we will make a decision in consultation with related agencies.”
Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, “This LH speculation case was possible because large-scale loans were concentrated and concentrated at a specific branch of the banking sector.” Asked.
The purpose of this is to check how such a loan was possible and that there was no illegality or negligence in the loan process.
According to the results of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation’s own investigation, the Nonghyup North Siheung branch gave out loans to nine LH employees, but it was found that it did not violate the soundness regulations or the security value evaluation standards in the process.
However, as Deputy Prime Minister Hong ordered a thorough investigation by the supervisory authority, some observations suggest that the Financial Supervisory Service may conduct separate investigations through sector inspections. In the future, there is a possibility that the subject of the survey will be expanded to other mutual financial sectors.
First, the Financial Services Commission and the Financial Supervisory Service are planning to dispatch about five people to the joint capital to support the investigation of the LH case.
An official from the financial authorities said, “If necessary, it can be done separately at the level of the financial authorities, but now, I think we should move organically while discussing with the special edition.”
