[이데일리 스타in 이석무 기자] Korean figure skating male and female star stars Cha Jun-hwan (20, Korea University) and Yoo-young (17, Suigo) took first place in the short program respectively in the selection that took part in the World Championships.

Cha Jun-hwan scored a total of 90.36 points in the 75th National Men’s and Women’s Figure Skating Comprehensive Championships and 2021 World Figure Skating Championships Dispatched Short Program held at the Uijeongbu Indoor Ice Center in Gyeonggi-do on the 25th (Technical score (TES) 49.11, Art score (PCS)) 41.25 points), winning second place Si-hyung Lee (79.13 points, Korea University) by 11.26 points, and placed first.

Cha Jun-hwan first showed off the new season’s short program, Ralph Vaughn Williams’ Dark Pastoral. Except for the fact that the landing was slightly shaken while attempting the final jump task, Triple Axel, he performed fine. The first jump task, the quadruple (4 rounds) Salco and the triple lutz-triple roof combination jump, was also neatly processed.

As long as there is no big change in free skating, it is expected that there will be no problem in obtaining the men’s singles at the World Championships that took one card.

In the women’s single short program, Yoo-young took first place with a total score of 69.87 points (technical score (TES) 38.15 points, art score (PCS) 31.72 points).

Yoo-young performed as if she became Cleopatra to the soundtrack (OST) of the movie’Asterix: Mission Cleopatra’. There were many mistakes, but there was no problem getting to the top. While attempting the first jump program and the main weapon, the Triple Axel, he was judged under rotated and received a 1.15 point deduction for his performance score (GOE).

The following triple lutz-triple toe loop combination jump was a triple lutz single jump. However, in the third triple flip, he made up for the mistake by attaching a triple lutz that he had not tried before. GOE was reduced by 0.42 points due to landing anxiety, but there was no big problem.

Lee Haein (15, Hangang Middle School) who received 69.22 points (38.14 points in TES, 31.08 points in PCS) took the second place, and Yerim Kim (18, Surigo) who scored 68.87 points in third place. The difference in the score from No. 1 Yoo-Young to No. 3 Kim Ye-rim is only 1 point, so the game is expected to be properly masked in free skating on the 26th.

Women’s singles up to the top two are entitled to qualify for World Championships. The World Championships will be held in Stockholm, Sweden from the 22nd of the following month.
