According to the Gyeongin Regional Statistics Office on the 17th, the employment rate in Gyeonggi-do in February was 59.1%, which was less than 60% for three consecutive months following last December (59.1%) and last January (57.9%).

The unemployment rate was also 4.5% in the same month, maintaining the 3% level for 5 consecutive months since August last year, and surpassing 4% for two consecutive months since last month (5.1%).

Employment rate and unemployment rate are indicators that represent the proportion of people who worked for more than one hour for income purposes and those who were looking for a job for the previous 4 weeks but could not find employment. .

In particular, unemployment was concentrated on female workers, and it was found that there is an urgent need to take measures for the vulnerable.

This month, the number of men employed was 4057,000, an increase of 4,000 (0.1%) from the same month last year, while the number of women employed decreased by 52,000 (1.8%) to 2.84,000.

As such, existing jobs are being drastically disappeared, and most of the jobs that were created were short-time jobs and were of poor quality.

The number of employees working less than 36 hours per week was 1.37 million, an increase of 174,000 (14.5%) from the same month of the previous year, but the number of those who worked more than 36 hours was 5335,000, a decrease of 238,000 (4.3%) from the same month of the previous year.
