The British London Football Awards announced the nominations for each category for this 2020/21 season on the 17th (Korean time). Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min and Harry Kane were both nominated for Premier League Player of the Year.

Son Heung-min and Kane have shown tremendous performances from the first half of this season, leading Tottenham’s first half of the league, and are currently ranked at the top of the personal record category.

Son Heung-min is ranked 5th in the league score and 5th in assists, scoring 13 goals and 9 assists in 28 league matches this season. Son Heung-min, who scored 11 goals and 10 assists last season, succeeded in the first 10-10 in the league, and is challenging the 10-10 record for two consecutive seasons.

Kane is having a more amazing season. Kane has already achieved his first 10-10 record in the league with 16 goals and 13 assists in 26 league games.

This season, Kane was given a different role under coach Jose Mourinho, and made a big success as Son Heung-min’s special assistant.

Kane did not stay at the front line, but came down to the 2nd or 3rd line and played a role in developing a quick counterattack using Son Heung-min and, recently, Gareth Bale.

Kane has helped Son Heung-min alone with nine goals and has 13 assists in the league, helping him more than Manchester City’s Kevin Debrainer and Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandez.

In particular, the two players made a new history by collaborating 14 goals over 13 goals scored by Blackburn Rovers’ Alan Shearer and Chris Sutton in the 1994/95 season, which is the joint record of the most goals in the Premier League.

West Ham’s Declan Rice, Tomasi Suchek, and Chelsea’s Mason Mount were nominated for the two players to compete together.

Rice and Suchek, who lead West Ham’s surprise this season, are leading West Ham’s defensive and set-piece attacks.

Mount remained unchanged from former manager Frank Lampard and newly appointed Thomas Tuchel to become Chelsea’s ace.

Mount, who is mainly playing as the second-tier offensive midfielder this season, led Chelsea’s attack while newly recruited Timo Werner, Kai Habertz and Hakim Ziech were sluggish, and is increasing their influence in the offensive camp under Tuhel.

Meanwhile, among other Tottenham players, Eric Lamela was nominated for Goal of the Year for his fantastic Wonder Goal in the last league round 28 Arsenal and North London Derby.
