Fans protested against the Mnet audition program’Produce’ when the group’IZONE’ announced the dissolution due to controversy over voting manipulation.
On the 12th, the IZone fandom’WizOne’ said in an official statement, “It is difficult for fans to understand the position that Mnet has announced that it will end its IZone project activities in April.”
On the 10th, Mnet said, “The IZone project activity will be completed in April. The online solo concert will be held for two days on the 13th and 14th.”
In the news of the dismantling of IZone, Wiz1 claimed that “Mnet’s unilateral announcement at the point when it becomes difficult or non-refundable only three days before the online concert is held is like an act of deceiving Wiz1.
He added, “I strongly urge you to postpone the scheduled IZone online concert schedule.”
Some fans held a’truck demonstration’ near the CJ ENM office building in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Through the LED billboard installed on the truck, they showed words such as “Retain 12 members and continue their activities in the future” and “Mnet’s full support is a deception.” They expressed their repulsion against the dismantling of IZone.
Meanwhile, on the 11th, the third division of the Supreme Court (Chief Judge Kim Jae-hyung) confirmed two years of imprisonment under the custody of Producer Ahn Joon-young (PD), who was accused of fraud and other charges. PD Ahn is accused of manipulating the votes of the produce series. Kim Yong-beom and assistant producer Lee, who were also handed over to trial, were also sentenced to one year and eight months in prison and a fine of 10 million won, respectively.
