Candidate Park Young-sun, Mayor of the Democratic Party of Seoul, proposed a thorough investigation of landowners in the 3rd new town development area and the area where large-scale housing site development is expected. It is interpreted that the number of wins and losses was thrown when the approval rate showed a sharp decline, such as the announcement of the results of a public opinion poll that the recent virtual bilateral confrontation with candidates Ahn Cheol-soo and Oh Se-hoon was pushed by a maximum of 20 percentage points.

Candidate Park spoke at a press conference at the elections office in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 14th. Candidate Park said, “The government has initiated a second investigation of spouses and direct relatives of public officials, but it is difficult to find out those who committed illegal dumping under the second name with relatives or acquaintances.” He emphasized that it is necessary to thoroughly screen out illegal speculators by tracking the flow of the investigator’s sources of funds.

Candidate Park also urged the party leadership to establish fundamental anti-speculation measures such as the Anti-Conflict of Interest Act and the Real Estate Transaction Act. At the same time, he urged the passage of the Provisional National Assembly in March of the ‘5 Acts on Anti-Speculation and Corruption of Public Officials’, such as the ▲Conflict of Interest Prevention Act ▲Public Officials Ethics Act ▲Public Housing Act ▲Land and Housing Corporation Act ▲Real Estate Transactions Act.

In addition, Candidate Park said, “I know that Rep. Yang Gyeong-suk recently re-submitted the law on the Lee Hak-su Act, which was submitted to the National Assembly in their 19’s and 20’s, and the collection of crimes of specific property.

Candidate Park also suggested the establishment of a tentatively named’Land and Housing Reform Committee’ within the government to establish land and housing reform policies.

Candidate Park argued that “they are entangled with the planned real estate and are encouraging speculation,” and argued that “the Land and Housing Reform Committee should be established to track the flow of funds and eradicate speculation.”
