The Busan Seegero Church, who had been closed by conducting face-to-face worship, said, “There were no confirmed cases of violating the quarantine guidelines, but the indefinite closure is a fearful law.”
Senior Pastor Son Hyeon-bo of Seegero Church said in a telephone interview with MBC radio’Kim Jong-bae’s attention’ on the 12th.
Pastor Son said, “The Seoul subway rides 7.3 million people a day, and the church limits the number of chapels for 10,000 to 20, and the chapel for 5000 to 20,” he argued that the current quarantine regulations are unscientific.
As for the reason for sticking to face-to-face worship, he said, “It is a Christian tradition,” he said. “Since it is a rural area, there are many people in their 70s and 80s, and (they) can’t handle cell phones, so there are many people who haven’t been able to worship for a year.”
“Because of forcing non-face-to-face worship, more than 3,000 churches were closed,” he said. “Have the government ever given a disaster fund to them?”
Pointing out that it is not because of the donation, he said, “It is really a malicious view of the church.”
He said, “Isn’t the school teacher doing it because of money to teach students?”
Seegero Church in Gangseo-gu, Busan, violated the quarantine guidelines and conducted face-to-face worship and were accused of quarantine authorities seven times.
Despite the order to stop operating the facility, they ignored it and adhered to face-to-face worship.
In the end, the quarantine authorities put indefinitely a measure from 0 o’clock today.
The church asked the court to prevent the closure and filed a request for a temporary injunction to suspend execution.
