Nexon’s popular game’Dungeon & Fighter’, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, expands the worldview. With the concept of a multi-space (multi-bus) worldview, a number of new games based on intellectual property rights (IP) of’Dungeon & Fighter’ will be introduced. Following’Project BBQ’ and’Dungeon & Fighter Mobile’, which were first unveiled at the’Dungeon & Fighter Festival’ in 2018, the fighting game’Dungeon & Fighter Duel’ in collaboration with Japan’s Arc System Works was released. Here, the Artden exhibition in collaboration with famous artists is held and a special art book commemorating the 15th anniversary is released. The 13-part animation’Dungeon & Fighter: The Wheel of Reversal’ will also be aired in January.
On the 26th, Nexon and Neople held the second part of the’Dungeon & Fighter Universe Festival’ online and announced the same. Following the major winter update of’Dungeon & Fighter’, which was released through the first part held on the 20th, various news were introduced, focusing on the expansion of IP, worthy of the name’Universe’. In particular, caster Seung-heon Seung-hun, commentator Jung In-ho, and Jung Joon were in charge of the process, and the augmented reality (AR) technique was used to create a unique stage that connects the reality and the virtual.
In the second part of the festival that day, the new 12-player raid’Ozma Raid’ was surprisingly revealed along with the additional contents of the new content’Black Purgatory’ of’Dungeon & Fighter’ released on the 20th. According to the contents released on the day,’Black Purgatory’ includes’Calling Jade’,’Pure Blood Despero’,’Tiamat of Despair’,’Onyx Black’,’Darker Jet’,’Timore the Pure Blood’, and’Asta of Fear. In addition, as compensation for the Winter Festival starting on January 7, next year, weapons Epic Chodol, Part 12 Epic, and Quarter 12 and 8th Reinforcement weapons were newly released.
‘Project BBQ’, which was first released in 2018, was also introduced. It is a PC online action RPG being produced with Unreal Engine 4, which shares the same worldview as the existing’Dungeon & Fighter’, but is described as a parallel universe with different details.
In the video released on this day, the possibility of survival of’Bakal’, the king of fire dragons, was presented, and’Trooper’, a character of’Cyphers’, also appeared and attracted attention. As the characters of’Dungeon & Fighter’ and’Cyphers’ have appeared intersecting each other, it implies that a person from a parallel world who shares a worldview also appears in’Project BBQ’. A new person named’Phantom Guard’ holding a shield also appeared, and the original story was also announced.
In addition, the character’s appearance in a cartoon rendering form utilizing the feeling of the original’Dungeon & Fighter’ and the action produced in a form different from’Dungeon & Fighter’ based on 3D graphics also attracted attention.
A new work’Dungeon & Fighter Mobile’, which looks like it has moved the PC online game’Dungeon & Fighter’ to mobile, was also introduced. In the case of’Dungeon & Fighter Mobile’ using Unity Engine, it features a different perspective while following the story of the original’Dungeon & Fighter’. In the released video, the fall of’Behemoth’ and the surviving’Lotus’ were depicted. 1v1 PvP’Ranked Battle’ and 2v2 PvP’Bar Brawl’, ancient dungeon’King’s Ruins’ and’Screaming Cave’,’Bilmark Empire Experiment Site’, as well as’Relics Battle’,’Lotus Raid’, etc. The content’s play screen was also released.
The 2D fighting game’Dungeon & Fighter Duel (DNF Duel, Gaje)’, which collaborated with Japan’s famous fighting game maker Arc System Works, was revealed as the best. Arc System Works is a company that produced famous 2D fighting games such as’Guilty Gear’ and’Blaze Blue’. The video released on this day captures the appearance of the character that makes use of the colors of Arc System Works while maintaining the feeling of the original’Dungeon & Fighter’. Characters such as male ear testers, female fighters, male fighters, and male gunners have also appeared.
A commemorative art exhibition’Artden Exhibition: Drawing a Dungeon’, which reinterprets the IP of’Dungeon & Fighter’ from the perspective of nine famous artists, will also be presented. At this event, the works of six artists including Kim Jung-gi, Shin Young-hoon, Jang Seong-rak, Hands in Factory, Jin-K, and Ray Clay will be released. You can enjoy each work that reinterprets the art of’Dungeon & Fighter’ such as webtoon, brick art, ink painting, resin art, etc. with the artist’s own style and technique. In the case of writer Jin-K, the world map of the world Arad in the game was implemented through 120,000 blocks, drawing attention.
An art book commemorating the 15th anniversary of this year’s service is also released. The’Dunpa Art Book’, which is composed of two volumes, is about 400 pages per volume and contains illustrations and original dot paintings from the beginning of development to the present. Volume 1 features apostles and play characters, and volume 2 deals with dungeons, monsters, and NPCs. Artbooks can be pre-purchased through the Tumble Buck page on the 26th, and a special bookcase and a poster and canvas with pixel art commemorating the 15th anniversary will be provided to tumblebuck buyers.
A total of 13 episodes of animation’Dungeon & Fighter: The Wheel of Reversal’ will also be aired on the cable TV channel’Animax’ in January. This is the second TV animation aired after’Dungeon & Fighter: Door of Fate’, featuring a male ear tester, a female priest, Ma Changsa, and Shiran.
