In addition, new business types were newly established to support various forms of cooperation. In addition to the bilateral and multilateral cooperation projects that have been promoted so far, various new projects have been newly established to secure strategic technology for the Korean side and to promote global advancement.

The main support for this year’s industrial technology international cooperation project is ▲bilateral-multilateral joint funding R&D ▲global cooperation base type joint R&D ▲global demand-linked technology cooperation ▲technology introduction type X&D ▲Korea-ASEAN technology cooperation pilot project, etc. It plans to select and support 85 tasks in each field.

First of all, cooperation with 14 countries that have already established cooperation channels with green and digital powers such as Germany and the United Kingdom will be promoted in leading areas of the industrial paradigm such as eco-friendly and digital transformation such as carbon neutrality. In particular, multilateral cooperation in the green field, led by Korea and Denmark and agreed to promote with 10 countries including Austria and Singapore, is also supported through’Eureka’, Europe’s largest joint research platform.

It is the first time to introduce a’global cooperation base type project’ that supports mid- to large-sized technical cooperation with domestic industries and research institutes by using excellent overseas research institutes with the world’s best technology as a cooperative base. This year, it plans to promote mid- to long-term joint R&D with domestic industry-academia-research institutes by selecting five research institutes targeting major countries such as the United States and Europe.

Based on the demand of global companies, we will support international joint R&D with domestic sub-manager companies to promote the global demand-supply cooperation model that promotes GVC entry by sub-manager companies.

In order to promote early technology introduction, such as the introduction of excellent overseas technology and mergers and acquisitions (M&A), new support is provided for the development of follow-up technology (X&D) with overseas institutions when securing overseas technology. In order to establish the’ASEAN-Korea Industrial Innovation Organization’, a platform for promoting mutually beneficial industrial technology cooperation with ASEAN, a new pilot project with ASEAN countries will be promoted.

Details of the integrated announcement and application procedures can be found on the website of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the website of the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology. In order to provide a wide range of information on those who wish to participate in the project, a business guide video will be provided through the YouTube of the Korea Industrial Technology Promotion Agency.

Sang-mo Kim, Industrial Technology Convergence Policy Officer of the Ministry of Industry said, “In an era when global networks are expanding and digital transformation is accelerating, there is no longer a limit to international competitiveness with in-house self-development.” “We will provide support from various angles so that our companies can quickly lead the technology paradigm through organic solidarity and cooperation with the institution.”
