The Jeonbuk Police Agency announced on the 15th that it has taken action against Inspector A, who is being investigated by the police for being involved in a mask fraud sale case.

Inspector A, belonging to the Jeonju Wansan Police Station, is known to be accused of intercepting the money after approaching the victim with a civil servant B and others of the Jeonju District Court to sell masks for corporate supply.

The investigation is underway at the Seongbuk Police Station in Seoul.

In August of last year, the Jeonbuk Police Agency, to which Inspector A belongs, excluded police officers from the investigation and dispatched them to the district.

It only took measures to issue censure personnel to exclude investigators from the investigation, but did not take measures to dispose of personal disadvantages such as the position system.

A police official said, “I know that the arrest warrant for Inspector A was filed last year, but it was dismissed.” “When the investigation is terminated and prosecuted, the prosecution will investigate and follow procedures such as the position system.”

In contrast, the Jeonbuk Police Agency put Inspector C, who was charged with bribery, in December last year, in the pre-prosecution stage.

At the time, Inspector C, along with a former police officer, is being investigated by the prosecution on charges of meeting the respondents in the case he was in charge of several times and accepting a bribe of 100 million won in the name of ignoring the case.

Article 73-3 (1) 6 of the National Public Officials Act considers’a person who is investigating or investigating by an investigating agency such as the prosecutor’s office or the police due to illegal acts prescribed by Presidential Decree, such as misconduct of money and goods or sexual crimes’ as a requirement for the position system. According to the relevant laws and regulations,’unlawful behavior prescribed by Presidential Decree’ is defined as’an act that is deemed inappropriate to maintain the position by greatly impairing the dignity of a public official.

Regarding whether or not to take the position system for Inspector A, the Jeonbuk Police Agency issued an explanation and said, “In consideration of the alleged content of the case, the degree of involvement, and the progress of the investigation, Inspector A was not removed from the position. After the release, we will take strict disciplinary measures.
