On the first day of the new year of 2021, the first day of the year, sunrise spots across the country looked very different from before. This is because the government and local governments have closed the sunrise spots to prevent the spread of Corona 19. Many citizens who visited the controlled Palgakjeong Pavilion in Namsan, Seoul looked at the rising sun around Palgakjeong Pavilion. At Seonyugyo Bridge in Yeongdeungpo-gu, after 08:00, the control time, citizens gathered on the bridge to see the sun. At Jamsu Bridge, Seocho-gu, where crowds were trying to watch the sunrise while avoiding controlled places, traffic was crowded with cars and citizens illegally parked on bicycle paths and crosswalks.

At Naksan Beach in Yangyang, Gangwon-do, the area around the controlled white sandy beach was crowded with sunrise vehicles. Haeundae Beach in Busan looked at the rising sun as citizens gathered behind the control line. Gwangchigi Beach near Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak in Jeju was crowded with crowds at sunrise. Gwangchigi Beach was closed until the 3rd, but there were no other access control lines, so access was possible.
