According to Rep. Gyeong-ho Chu, secretary of the People’s Strength of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounting of the National Assembly, Minister Byeon receives incentives for three years in accordance with the’medium-term incentive system’ introduced in 2015. As a result of the calculation of Byeon’s incentive pay, assuming that LH will receive an A grade from this year to next year, Minister Byeon will receive an additional KRW 157.21 million in the future, excluding the previously received KRW 39.91 million. In this case, the total incentive pay amounted to 19.715 million won.

On the 9th, the Ministry of Science and Technology said, “A joint government investigation is currently underway with the Prime Minister’s Office on the allegations of LH’s land speculation.” We plan to review strong measures such as downward adjustment and return of incentives.” In fact, in April of last year, when the government audit revealed that employees of Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) tried to obtain high management evaluation by manipulating customer satisfaction surveys, the Ministry of Information and Transportation gave KORAIL an insufficient (D) rating.
