In the midst of a cyber hacking attack on the European Medicines Agency (EMA), it was revealed that there was illegal access to documents related to’Recyronazu’, an antibody treatment for Celltrion’s novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19). Celltrion stressed that some multinational corporations were also affected, and that it was not an attack against a specific company.
Celltrion posted on the website on the 22nd, “Of the documents that were submitted to EMA, some of the documents that were submitted to EMA were illegal. I was informed by the EMA that it was confirmed that there was access.”
Celltrion has submitted some documents related to the state of Rekkirona in order to obtain emergency approval for use by EMA by July of this year following Korea.
It is reported that this hacking attack includes not only Celltrion, but also some multinational companies such as Modena, the US, and Bioentech, which are the developers of Corona 19 vaccine.
However, Celltrion said that the patient’s personal information related to medicines was not leaked. An official of Celltrion said, “There is a possibility of a document leakage, but the patient’s personal information was not included in the document, and there has been no damage from the leakage yet.”
The official said, “While observing the situation of EMA, we are proceeding with the clinical and approval procedures for biopharmaceuticals, including Rekirona, as scheduled.” Said.
