In a recent cyber attack on the European Medicines Agency (EMA), it was revealed that there was illegal access to documents related to Celltrion’s novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) antibody treatment “Rekyronaju” (ingredient name Legdanvimab CT-P59).

On the 22nd, Celltrion announced that it had been notified of this from EMA through an announcement on the company’s website.

Celltrion is currently negotiating with EMA to apply for an item permit in Rekirona. For this reason, some documents related to the state of Rekirona have been submitted to EMA.

Celltrion said, “Not only us, but also some multinational corporations such as US Moder and German Bioentech are known to have suffered the same type of damage,” said Celltrion. “We believe that this cyber attack was not specific to us.” .

He emphasized that the patient’s personal information related to medicine was not leaked.

Celltrion said, “It is possible that some of the documents we submitted to EMA due to this incident have been leaked to the outside,” and emphasized that “the document does not contain any personal information of the patient.”

Celltrion is also continuously monitoring its own IT system, and has confirmed that it has not seen any leakage or damage to date.

Celltrion said, “We are constantly communicating with EMA and are closely monitoring the situation,” he added. “Clinical and approval procedures for biopharmaceuticals, including Corona 19 antibody treatment Rekkirona, are also progressing without disruption.”

Earlier, EMA announced that a cyber attack occurred on the 9th of last month (local time) and that an investigative agency is investigating it. On the 12th of this month, it was revealed that some data related to Corona 19 drugs and vaccines, which were illegally accessed during a cyber attack, were leaked on the Internet.

Shortly after EMA disclosed the cyber attack last month, US pharmaceutical company Pfizer and German Bioentech announced that there was illegal access to documents related to the COVID-19 vaccine jointly developed by the two companies during a cyber attack against EMA.
