Eui-gyeom Kim and Jin-ae Kim run down as’Heukseok-dong Shopping Center’, and Dana, the legislator badge

Kim Jin-ae, a member of the Open Democratic Party, is running for the Seoul Mayor by-election in April next year. It is also news that Congressman Kim, who claims to be an urban expert, announced his intention to run. Rather, in order for Proportional Representative Kim to run for the by-election, he has to resign 30 days before the election, because in that case, former Cheong Wa Dae spokesman Kim Eui-gyeom will take over. During the last general election, the Open Democratic Party, which promoted a’genuine pro-moon party’, produced three proportional representative elected members: Kim Jin-ae, Choi Kang-wook, and Kang Min-jung. At this time, former spokesman Kim was defeated by the number 4 of the proportional representative candidate.

On March 22, the'Open Democratic Party' unveiled a list of proportional representative candidates for the April general election, including former Blue House spokesman Kim Eui-gyeom and former public official Kigang Secretary Choi Kang-wook in front of the National Assembly's main office on March 22. Former spokesman Kim, who served as President Moon Jae-in’s “mouth”, is classified as a strong family member. When he served as a reporter for the Hankyoreh Newspaper, he led the report of’Choi Soon-sil Gukjeong Nongdan’. After President Moon selected him as his spokesperson, he was criticized for inappropriate going directly to the Blue House by journalists. When I was a spokesperson, I received favorable reviews for briefings based on internal coverage, but sometimes it was accompanied by a spokesperson’s interpretation and controversy. During this process, reporters from the Blue House also frequently clashed. Meanwhile, he added the image of Kang Sung Chinmun.

Former spokesman Kim left the Blue House because of the controversy over real estate speculation. In July 2018, he bought a shopping mall in Heukseok-dong, Seoul, which was scheduled for redevelopment, for 2.57 billion won, and at that time, only the loan he received exceeded 1 billion won. Criticism poured out, saying, “The Blue House spokesman obtained information in advance and started speculating on real estate,” he said, saying, “My wife invested without consultation.” He sold it back at 3.45 billion won in December last year, after one year and five months of purchase. He said, “I will donate the profits,” but he sold the shopping mall in Heukseok-dong, and donated 370 million won to the Korea Scholarship Foundation, excluding taxes, financial expenses, and brokerage fees, out of 880 million won in market capitalization.

In the meantime, during the general election in April this year, he declared a run for his hometown, Gunsan, Jeonbuk, but was virtually excluded from the Democratic Party nomination due to suspicion of real estate speculation. Instead, they accepted the proportional representative order of the Open Democratic Party, the ruling party’s satellite party. Earlier, during the general election in April, the names of two people, Jinae Kim and Eui-gyeom Kim, came up and down in the admiration of the group supporting Kang Sung’s family. It was argued that “Rep. Kim Jin-ae should resign as a member of the parliament, and former spokesman Kim should wear a badge and lead media reform.” At the time of the general election, former spokesman Kim also made a pledge to create a so-called’Anti-Information Act’, saying, “If the media reports intentionally fabricate the truth, we will impose compensation far beyond the actual amount of damage.”

Meanwhile, in the political world, it is said that it remains to be seen whether Rep. Kim Jin-ae will complete the by-election of the mayor of Seoul. This is because if the election is held to the end, it is inevitable that passport-oriented votes will be scattered. Currently, there are many prospects that a game of Park Bing, which is difficult to see ahead in the by-election of the mayor of Seoul, will be produced.
