From April, it is expected that 100 million doses of a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine will be supplied to the European Union (EU) every month, according to EU Commissioner Ursula Ponder Reien, said on the 8th (local time).

According to AFP, Chairman Ponderrayen stressed that the quantity delivered to the EU will increase dramatically as corona19 vaccine manufacturers have promised to increase supply, and more types of vaccines are about to be approved.

Chairman Pon der Reien said, “It is expected to receive an average of 100 million servings per month in the second quarter of this year, and a total of 300 million servings by the end of June.”

According to official data posted on the EU website, a total of 51.5 million doses of Corona 19 vaccine were delivered to 27 EU countries as of February 26th. The total population of the EU is 446 million.

Currently, in the EU, the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Pfizer, Bioentech, Modena, AstraZeneca and Oxford is being used, but the lack of supply is causing a major obstacle to vaccination.

On the 11th, the EU-affiliated European Medicines Agency (EMA) decides whether to use the vaccine developed by Janssen, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, USA.
