Etna volcano, one of the world’s major active volcanoes, started erupting from a snow-covered crater on the 16th (local time) as lava rose up into the sky with dark red smoke columns. Volcanic ash poured out like rain. The eruption lasted for more than an hour, and lava flowed down the mountain slopes. It was the largest volcanic activity in recent years.
