The cricket boiler Asan plant-related novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) has been pointed out as a typical 3-mill working environment as the cause of collective infection.

According to Chungnam-do on the 16th, as of 7 pm on the day, 90 confirmed cases of Corona 19 related to the cricket boiler Asan plant.

The number of confirmed cases related to this factory increased to 90, including 8 on the 14th, 43 on the 15th, and 38 on the 16th, after one employee (#850 in Cheonan) was confirmed on the 13th.

The confirmed cases were 76 employees and 14 family members. Of these, 18 foreign workers are employed.

The quarantine authorities are currently shutting down the operation of the plant and conducting a full inspection of employees. Some of the staff are waiting for the test results, so the number of confirmed cases may increase.

As secondary infections of 14 employee’s family members are confirmed, the employee’s family members will also be thoroughly tested.

The quarantine authorities believe that the virus spread in an enclosed environment and caused the outbreak of outbreaks.

The quarantine response team confirmed the Corona 19 virus in six places inside the building of the Asan factory, a cricket boiler.

The virus was detected in five buildings of the factory where 641 people work, including a sofa in a common changing room in Building F, a drink vending machine, and a table in a common conference room. The common changing rooms in Building F, baths, rest rooms, and offices were found to be typical 3 rooms (closely, densely closed) environments. Most of the confirmed employees worked in Building F.

The virus came out from the office warmer. Accordingly, the quarantine authorities estimate that employees were exposed for a long time to the virus that spread throughout the factory through the wind of a hot fan in a factory where ventilation facilities were not properly equipped.

Chungnam-do has decided to conduct an emergency quarantine inspection for business sites with more than 100 employees in the province this week, as there will be more places in the same environment as the cricket boiler factory.

Governor Yang Seung-jo held a press conference this afternoon and said, “It seems that a group infection occurred as employees ate together in a poorly ventilated place or shared a three-room environment such as changing rooms, bathhouses, and rest rooms.” When eating, do not sit face to face, and please wear a mask except when chewing food or drinking beverages.”
