There is an unusual situation in which a’warmful’ dialogue goes back and forth at a personnel hearing on a candidate for the Minister of Environment, who needs to solve the heavy environmental problems such as the climate crisis, new airports and cable cars, and the Four Rivers project. Environmental group activists who watched the hearing gave an evaluation that it was’like a club.’ A rare scene was directed at the personnel hearing for the candidate Han Jeong-ae of the Environment Minister held at the National Assembly on the 20th. Rep. Lim Ja-in, who is from the Korean Federation of Trade Unions as a candidate, asked for a position on the controversy over the’blacklist of the Ministry of Environment’ during the days of former Minister Kim Eun-gyeong. They poured out virtues such as good greetings, “I like and respect you,” “I hope you become the minister”. Rep. Hong Seok-joon also said, “I have tolerance to see that I am leading and chairing the National Assembly Climate Change Forum. He asked to become the minister of the Republic of Korea, not of the Democratic Party.” Following his 19th and 20th generation, he served as a secretary of the Environmental Labor Committee of the National Assembly as a third-tier lawmaker, and one candidate, a representative of the National Assembly Climate Change Forum, had no major disagreement on his career. Although there was controversy about writing down contracts, the moral dispute was not too great. However, it is also said that it is regrettable and disappointed that fellow lawmakers show their talks instead of verifying policies at the hearing of candidates for the State Council, who will take over the ministries where the pending issues are large. An activist from an environmental group said, “The name is the Environmental Labor Committee, and at the hearing of the Minister of Environment, Rep. Park Deok-heum even put in a complaint asking for the reduction of the Daecheong Lake Water Supply Protection Area, a local issue. This was a question of ineligibility to the extent that Chairman Hwan-no should have been held back.” Another environmental group activist said, “There are tasks that have emerged from the former ministerial system, such as Mt. Seorak and the Four Rivers, but there seems to be no question asking the candidate for a clear position. It seems to be seeing the standing committee of the National Assembly, not the hearing. At least so far, it doesn’t seem like a policy verification.” By Choi Woori and Kim Min-je, staff reporter [email protected]
