Larry King (photo), the host of the legendary talk show program representing the United States, passed away on the 23rd (local time). 87 years old.
On that day, the Associated Press and others said in a statement from Aura Media that King died that day at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles (LA). Aura Media is the name of a media network co-founded by King.
Aura Media said, “I announce the death of our co-founder, presenter and friend Larry King, who passed away at the age of 87 this morning.”
The company did not comment on the cause of King’s death. It has been 20 days since it was known that King was hospitalized with a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) on the 3rd.
King has suffered from various diseases such as diabetes. After several myocardial infarctions, he underwent heart surgery in 1987, and in 2017 he was cured after undergoing lung cancer surgery. In 2019, he also had surgery for angina.
King, who used to be an American radio broadcaster, gained global fame as well as the United States by hosting his name’Larry King Live’ (CNN) from 1985 to 2010.
King interviewed a whopping 50,000 people. He met not only entertainers and athletes, but also politicians, religious leaders, and ordinary people.
During his lifetime, King interviewed numerous celebrities, including the Dalai Lama, Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev, Elizabeth Taylor, and Lady Gaga.’Larry King Live’ produced a total of 6,000 films, and King retired in 2010.
He won the Peabody Award twice, called the’Broadcasting Pulitzer Prize’.
Meanwhile, King married 7 women 8 times and had 5 children. At the end of July last year, he sent his son Andy, 65, from a myocardial infarction, and in August, his daughter Kaia, 52, suffered the grief of dying from lung cancer.
