“Eliminate disadvantages for public sales and subscription bankbooks as a result of the 2nd and 4th measures”

Subscription deposit and installment subscribers are likely to be able to subscribe for less than 85㎡ of public sales.

(Sejong = Yonhap News) Reporter Yoon Jong-seok = The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 5th that “we will not suffer any disadvantages depending on the type of subscription bankbook in the subscription for public apartments supplied as measures for the 2nd and 4th measures.”

Earlier, the government announced that it would intensively supply apartments for public sale by carrying out public-led development projects in the second and fourth measures.

However, under the current system, only subscription savings and general savings subscribers can apply for an exclusive 85㎡ or less in the subscription for a public apartment.

For this reason, it is said that subscription deposit or subscription payment subscribers are relatively disadvantaged. Many of the houses that came out of the government’s housing supply plan could have originally been private housing, because they came out as public housing as public development took place.

In response, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport released explanatory data and said, “We plan to improve the system to prevent unreasonable reduction of subscription opportunities for houses with less than 85㎡ of the quantity supplied according to this housing supply expansion plan.”

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport added, “The supply of less than 85 square meters is considered to be the quantity initially likely to be supplied to private housing.”

In this case, subscribers of subscription deposits and installments are expected to be able to respond to subscriptions for houses under 85m2 for public pre-sale, which will come out through the government’s new supply policy.

An official from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said, “We plan to announce the detailed implementation plan in consideration of the timing of the subscription in the future,” and said, “The exact account passbook for subscription has not been determined.”
