Samsung(85,600 -1.27%)Announced on the 27th that it will launch a health monitoring application’Samsung Health Monitor’ in 31 countries around the world next month. Accordingly, users of’Galaxy Watch 3’and’Galaxy Watch Active 2’in the country can measure and record their own blood pressure and ECG.

An official from Samsung Electronics said on the day, “As the Samsung Health Monitor app acquired’CE Marking’ last month, related services can be presented in 28 European countries such as France, Germany and the UK.”

CE marking is a certification system that is granted when products imported into European countries comply with regional standards related to consumer health, safety, hygiene, and environment and secure reliability. Separately, the Samsung Health Monitor app was introduced in Chile, Indonesia, and UAE, bringing a total of 31 new markets.

To measure blood pressure and electrocardiogram using the Samsung Health Monitor app, users can download the’Samsung Health Monitor’ app on their smart watch, Galaxy smartphone. After that, you can update the device to the latest version through the’Galaxy Wearable’ app, and download the’Samsung Health Monitor’ app from the Galaxy Store.

You can easily measure your blood pressure through the Samsung Health Monitor app. After measuring the user’s reference blood pressure with a cuff type blood pressure monitor, and inputting the result value, the smart watch compares and analyzes the measured pulse wave with the reference blood pressure. However, the reference blood pressure should be corrected every 4 weeks.

ECG can also be easily measured. Open the’Samsung Health Monitor’ app, place the hand on the smart watch on a flat surface, and then place the fingertip of the other hand on the upper right button of the smart watch for 30 seconds. The app analyzes the electrical signal of the heart measured by the sensor and determines whether there is a sinus rhythm (a condition in which the heart is beating regularly) and atrial fibrillation (a symptom that the heart is beating in an irregular rhythm).

The update of the Samsung Health Monitor app is scheduled to be performed sequentially from the 4th of next month for users of’Galaxy Watch 3’and’Galaxy Watch Active 2′.

“Samsung Health Monitor’ app was first launched in Korea in June of last year, and about 1 million people have been using it,” said Yang Tae-jong, head of the health team of Samsung Electronics’ wireless division. “It is part of an effort to provide the service to more people.”
