Ease until 10:00 pm in the non-metropolitan area… The metropolitan area is maintained at 9 o’clock

How are you spending the Saturday before the Lunar New Year holidays? Some changes have occurred in the COVID-19 prevention regulations. It was decided to extend the business of restaurants and cafes in the non-metropolitan area by 1 hour until 10pm. However, as there is a risk of re-proliferation in the metropolitan area, the 9 p.m. business restriction was maintained.

The 9:00 p.m. business restrictions for multi-use facilities nationwide have been around for about two months since December 8th last year.

The government’s delay of the business time limit by one hour only for non-metropolitan areas is considered to be a measure taking into account both the livelihood of self-employed persons complaining of extreme damage and the situation of the corona spread.

In the non-metropolitan area, the average number of patients per day declined from 180 to 97 this week, showing a stable decline.

However, in the metropolitan area, the average number of patients per day increased rather than last week, and the decline was stagnant, and more than 70% of all confirmed cases are concentrated in the metropolitan area, which is a risk of reproliferation.

Accordingly, multi-use facilities such as restaurants, cafes, indoor sports facilities, and singing practice areas in the non-metropolitan area will be open until 10:00 p.m. from Monday the 8th.

It seems that 580,000 businesses in the non-metropolitan area will be covered.

In the case of metropolitan areas such as Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi-do, the business hours are maintained until 9 o’clock.

The government has decided to issue a two-week collective ban on facilities that violate the quarantine regulations so that easing measures in the non-metropolitan area will not lead to a re-proliferation tax.
