# A decided to use the early morning delivery service to receive the frozen food before going to work and store it in the freezer by 7am. However, the delivery was delayed and I went to work without receiving the product, but when I checked after work, the product that had been delivered was lost.
The early morning delivery market has grown rapidly due to the spread of non-face-to-face consumption due to the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), but there are no specific compensation standards for delayed delivery, and some products sold have no expiration date, causing consumer damage. Turned out to be.
On the 24th, the Korea Consumer Agency announced the results of a survey on product information provision of six top brands of early morning delivery, such as Coupang and Market Curly, as well as the results of a survey on customer satisfaction and usage of the top three consumers.
As a result of the survey, it was found that five out of the top six early morning delivery brands such as Coupang and Market Kurly did not specify specific compensation criteria for delivery delays. Market Curly, SSG.com, and Hello Nature stated in their terms and conditions that they would compensate users for damages in case of delay in delivery, but there were no specific compensation standards. Coupang wrote on the product detail page that’there may be a slight delay in the event of an exceptional reason such as a natural disaster.’
In addition, out of the 300 foods and processed foods of these companies, the products marked with the expiration date and manufacturing date were 40.7%, which was less than half of the labeling rate. The labeling rates of vegetables and salads (63.3%) and meat products (75.0%) were relatively low. In addition, according to the Livestock Law, beef must be graded, but it was confirmed that eight of the 24 products subject to labeling did not indicate the grade.

As a result of a consumer satisfaction survey of 1,200 people with experience in the use of the top three early morning delivery companies, Coupang scored the highest 3.81 points. The average satisfaction of the three companies was 3.77 points, and SSG.com scored 3.76 points and Market Curly scored 3.72 points.
In addition, 24.1% of consumers responded that overpacking should be reduced in the early morning delivery service. An official from the Korea Consumer Agency said, “Even though the early morning delivery companies are attempting eco-friendly marketing such as providing multi-use cool bags, collecting paper boxes, and using materials that can be separated and discharged as insulation, consumers are still concerned about the excessive discharge of packaging waste. “
In addition, he added, “Based on the results of this survey, we plan to recommend specific compensation standards according to the degree of delay in case of delivery delay to early morning delivery service providers, strengthen product information provision according to product information provision notification, and improve over-packaging.”
