E contest shares 2020 research results-Electric Power

On April 1st, an online research achievement presentation was held.
Opened under the theme of’The Road to Realization of Carbon Neutrality’

[일렉트릭파워 배상훈 기자]The Korea Institute for Energy Economics (CEO Yong-seong Cho, hereinafter, E-Contest) will hold a presentation of 2020 research results online at the Ulsan Headquarters on April 1. The presentation will be held under the theme of’The Road to the Realization of Carbon Neutrality’.

E-Gyeong-yeon organized a presentation to share the research results conducted last year and to hear the opinions of experts in the energy field and the public.

“We are declaring the goal of carbon neutrality in countries around the world including Korea, and are pursuing a fundamental change from the existing fossil fuel-centered energy supply system,” said Dr.

In addition, he said, “Amid this global trend, Korea must establish a foundation for inclusive energy conversion and clean energy systems through policies such as the Green New Deal.”

E-Gyeongyeon is a national research institute for energy policy establishment. The government is studying ways to realize the policy goals of carbon neutrality, energy conversion, green new deal, and clean energy infrastructure.

Director Yong-seong Cho expected that it would be a good opportunity to explain major government policies and related research results, and to share opinions to draw up better policy suggestions in the future.

In particular, he called for many opinions and support for the correct direction of Korea’s energy policy, saying, “This year, we will be holding an online real-time relay method to prevent the spread of Corona 19 and to broaden the participation of the general public.”

Meanwhile, this research achievement presentation consists of three sessions. In Session I, Shim Seong-hee, head of the Energy Transition Policy Research Division, E-Kyung-Yeon, will present the’Direction of the Korean Version of the Green New Deal: Diagnosis and Suggestions’.

Following this, Kim Dong-gu, research fellow E-Gyeong-yeon, will present a plan to promote the desynchronization of greenhouse gas emissions in major manufacturing industries. Discussions are also held inviting Professor Park Ho-jung of Korea University and Professor Bong-seok Choi of Kookmin University.

In Session II, Research Fellow Nam Soo-Hyun E-Kyung-Yeon presents’A Study on the Improvement of Energy Support Standards for Low-income People by Region and Household Characteristics’.

Afterwards, Lee Sang-joon, researcher Lee Kyung-yeon, will present the’Analysis of Conflict Factors and Research on Solutions for the Renewable Energy Supply Project in Rural Areas’. After the presentation, Professor Yoon Tae-yeon of Sunmoon University and Kim Yun-sung, a senior researcher at the Green Energy Strategy Research Institute, will be invited to discuss.

In Session III, Research Fellow Park Myung-deok E-Gyeong-yeon will present the theme of’A Study on the Response Strategy of the Electric Power Industry According to E-Mobility Growth’.

In addition, Kim Jae-kyung, research fellow E-Kyung-yeon, will present the’A Study on Strategies for the Early Settlement of the Market-Directed Hydrogen Economy’. Afterwards, we will discuss with Professor Jinnam Park, Professor at Kyungil University and Professor Doohwan Won at Pusan ​​National University.
