During the year-end and New Year's holidays, the coldest nationwide central inland 20 degrees below zero… Honam-Jeju snow'Pungpung'

During the year-end and New Year holidays, a bitter cold will come, and a lot of snow will fall in Honam and Jeju.

The Meteorological Administration announced on the 28th that after rain or snow fell all over the country during the day on the 29th, the temperature began to decrease as the cold continental high pressure expands to Korea, and a strong cold wave is expected nationwide from the 30th to January 1st of next year.

The minimum temperature in the morning of this period is expected to stay around -15 degrees Celsius in the central inland and around -7 degrees Celsius in the southern inland.

In particular, it is expected to be the coldest weather this winter, with the highest daytime temperature in the country staying below zero on the 30th, the lowest morning temperature of 13 degrees below zero in Seoul on the 31st, and 20 degrees below zero in other central regions.

The wind is also strong, so the sensory temperature is 5 to 10 degrees lower than the actual temperature.

In addition, between the 30th and January 1st of next year, very cold air passes through the west and east seas, and the snow cloud zone develops, and it is expected to snow in Chungnam, Jeolla-do, Jeju-do, Ulleung-do and Dokdo, where this snow cloud zone flows in.

With the prolonged period of inflow of cold air, the snow cloud belt continues to develop, and there is a high possibility that a heavy snow warning will be released on the west coast of Chungcheongnam-do, Jeolla-do, Jeju-do, Ulleung-do and Dokdo.

From the afternoon of January 1 of next year, the intensity of the inflow of cold air gradually slows down and the cold temporarily weakens. However, as the cold continental high pressure expands again from the 4th to 5th, strong cold will come and the cold will continue afterwards, the Meteorological Administration predicted.

An official from the Meteorological Administration said, “As the cold is expected to last for a long time, please pay attention to health care.”

“Next week, as the intensity of cold air inflow becomes stronger again, snow cloud belts develop on the sea, and in Jeolla-do, Jeju-do, Ulleung-do and Dokdo, where this snow cloud flows in, there is a possibility of a lot of snow again from the 5th. “Please pay attention to the weather information.”
