[아시아경제 호남취재본부 이관우 기자] Dongshin University’s Gender Equality Center announced on the 26th that it will develop and operate a’Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Prevention Education Program tailored for each grade level for college students’.
It is a step-by-step educational program that is created based on the needs survey of enrolled students, program analysis, and advisory contents of external advisors.
In the first year, students learn to understand gender sensitivity and human rights, in the second year, actual cases and countermeasures for each type of sexual violence and sexual harassment, and in the third and fourth year, support and protection of victims and prevention of secondary damage are taught step by step.
The effectiveness of education was enhanced by introducing a variety of teaching methods that students can directly participate and do activities.
Park Hee-hyun, head of the Dongshin University Gender Equality Center said, “I hope that our university students will be able to develop their capacity as preliminary experts in preventing sexual violence and sexual harassment to protect themselves and others from the dangers and conflicts caused by sexual problems.”
