Dongseo Food’s ’22nd Maxim Coffee Cup’

[이코노믹리뷰=박자연 기자] Dongseo Foods announced on the 6th that Kim Ji-suk won the victory in the final of the’Maxim Coffee Cup Best Match’, the nation’s most prestigious Go tournament sponsored by its company.

Kim Ji-seok 9th team defeated the first-time winner Lee Ji-hyun 9th team and won the final victory after a fierce fight that repeated reversal in the second country of the 22nd Maxim Coffee Cup winning finals held on the 5th. Kim Ji-seok, 9th Dan, who has participated in the Maxim Coffee Cup finals every year since the 15th in 2014, won the championship for the first time after the eighth challenge.

Winner Kim Ji-seok 9th team will be awarded 50 million won in prize money along with the championship trophy, and Lee Ji-hyun, who took second place, will receive a trophy and 20 million won in prize money.

Kim Ji-seok 9dan expressed his feelings, “I was feeling burdened ahead of the final with Lee Ji-hyun, 9th Dan, the winner of the first half, but I am happy to get a good result of winning the Maxim Coffee Cup finals by focusing until the end.”

On the other hand,’Maxim Coffee Cup Competition’ is the nation’s best mechanism to determine the top by only participating in 9 professional Baduk players, and is a representative social contribution activity of Dongseo Foods to broaden the base of the Korean Baduk culture. Through the’KANU Points’ system, which scores the results of various international and domestic competitions, only top-ranked Go knights are eligible to participate.
