Novak Djokovic (1st place, Serbia) easily passed the first round of the 2021 Australian Open.

Djokovic defeated Jeremy Shardi (66th place, France) 3-0 (6-3, 6-1, 6-2) in the first round of men’s singles on the first day of the tournament held in Melbourne, Australia on the 8th (Korean time).

Djokovic, who climbed to the top of this tournament eight times in his personal career and challenged his third straight victory this year, won the victory in 1 hour and 31 minutes without any crisis. According to local media, he was delighted after the game that “it feels good to play in front of a large crowd.”

Another strong team, Dominique (3rd place, Austria) and Alexander Zverev (7th place, Germany) also advanced to the second round.

The team beat Mikhail Kukushkin (90th place, Kazakhstan) 3-0 and Zverev defeated Marcos Giron (73th place, USA) 3-1.
